LG 43LM5500

Rating: 4.9

LG 43LM5500

This is one of the largest LCD TVs in our selection. On its front panel there is a 43-inch screen, which in terms of our units of measurement gives 109 cm. The resolution is, as you might guess, 1920×1080 pixels. The display was created using IPS technology, so you can hope for very good viewing angles. The disadvantage is only not the most realistic black colors. But what else can you expect from such an inexpensive TV? The screen refresh rate is also standard here, equal to 50 Hz.

The body of this model is made mostly of plastic. The frames around the display turned out to be quite wide. At least by modern standards. On the back of the device is located not only the input for the antenna, but also several other connectors. If we do not talk about outdated sockets, we can note a pair of HDMI inputs and one USB port. In fact, this is a very small amount that will not allow you to connect a lot of all kinds of equipment to the TV. It also has an optical audio output. It will be useful if the built-in 10-watt acoustics do not suit you.

Unlike many competitors, LG 43LM5500 boasts a light sensor. It tries to automatically adjust the brightness of the backlight. Also, this model has support for all digital TV standards – from terrestrial to satellite. As for the firmware, it is the most common here. As much as possible, the user can play content from an external USB drive, you can forget about Internet services.

Despite its decent size, the TV turned out to be very light – its weight does not exceed 8 kg. If you want to hang it on the wall, you can handle it alone. Do not forget to stock up on a bracket designed for mounting VESA 200×200 mm for this.

Advantages

  • Very light weight;

  • There is the possibility of mounting on the wall;

  • There is an optical audio output;

  • All digital TV standards are supported;

  • Maximum viewing angles.

Flaws

  • The frames around the screen cannot be called thin;

  • Not a very large number of connectors;

  • Not the best acoustics;

  • Standard screen refresh rate;

  • There is no Smart TV.

Samsung UE32N5000AU

Rating: 4.8

Samsung UE32N5000AU

The dimensions of this TV may seem modest. The diagonal of its screen is only 31.5 inches. It is clear that there is no question of any 4K resolution in this case. But Full HD is still enough for many people. Especially the youngest ones. Namely, in the children’s room, such a TV will look best. It is also purchased for the dacha, and some buyers have a place for it even in the kitchen!

By default, the device stands on two legs. But if you want to place it on the wall, then this is also possible – it supports a 100×100 mm VESA mount. Even a young girl will be able to hold the TV in her hands, since its weight is only 3.8 kg.

Returning to the screen, we should note the low response time, not exceeding 6 ms. This will greatly appeal to those who are going to connect a game console to the device. As for the rest of the parameters, they are not encouraging, it must be admitted. The screen refresh rate is 50 Hz, the TV does not know how to make the picture smoother. And the cheap matrix suffers from modest vertical viewing angles. Finally, not everything is in order here with color reproduction. And even with clarity! In a word, if you are buying a TV for yourself, and not for a child, then you can think about some other model that got into our review.

Samsung UE32N5000AU supports all digital TV standards. The sound output here is carried out through two speakers with a power of 5 watts. If this seems not enough, then you can use the soundbar or speakers by connecting them to the optical audio output. Also on the back of the device are two HDMI inputs and one USB port. The latter is used to play files from a flash drive or external hard drive. Unfortunately, the TV is deprived of some codecs, so not all movies are played stably.

In fact, this TV stands out from competitors with a similar price tag. Firstly, this model has a very thin frame. Secondly, there is a Picture-in-Picture feature. This means that you can watch a TV channel and something connected to the HDMI connector at the same time.

Advantages

  • Thin bezels around the screen;

  • All digital TV standards are supported;

  • Good acoustics for such sizes;

  • There is an optical audio output;

  • Implemented the “Picture-in-Picture” function;

  • There is the possibility of mounting on the wall;

  • Very light weight.

Flaws

  • Standard screen refresh rate;

  • Not the best viewing angles and color reproduction;

  • I would like a little more connectors;

  • Does not play all video files;

  • No Smart TV.

Philips 43PFS5034

Rating: 4.7

Philips 43PFS5034

This TV boasts unusually thin bezels around the display. Only the area under the screen can be called any wide. This model is placed on the cabinet with the help of two metal legs. If this option does not suit you, you can use the holes on the rear panel designed for the VESA 200×100 mm bracket. You can hang this copy on the wall alone, since its weight barely reaches 7.1 kg.

If we are talking about the back of the TV, then let’s go through the connectors present here. Among them, there are a couple of HDMI inputs used to connect a game console or something similar. There is also a USB port, thanks to which you can watch a movie stored on a flash drive or external hard drive. It is also used for recording television broadcasts. Not forgotten by the manufacturer and headphone jack. This is nice, many TVs now do without it, including those that opened our selection. Well, the coaxial audio output ends the list of sockets. It is needed for those who find the built-in 16-watt acoustics not enough.

This TV uses a standard 43-inch LCD with a refresh rate of 60Hz or less. The resolution is 1920×1080 pixels. Viewing angles are good, but they cannot be called maximum. Many people will be satisfied with the quality of the picture, but someone will definitely want more. However, in this price segment there are no TVs with an excellent screen, because its production costs a lot of money.

Philips 43PFS5034 supports all digital TV standards – from terrestrial DVB-T2 to satellite DVB-S2. As for the functionality, this is the weakest side of this model. There is no Smart TV here, so the device is not able to go to, say, YouTube on its own. And you will definitely need to check the complete remote control. The fact is that some copies of the TV come with a remote control as if from a different model. In this case, turning off the sound may turn off the TV itself. Of course, this problem is solved by buying some kind of universal remote control, but the sediment, as they say, remains.

Advantages

  • Very thin screen bezels

  • All digital TV standards are supported;

  • Built-in good acoustics;

  • There is a coaxial audio output;

  • There is a headphone jack;

  • Wall mount available;

  • Very light weight for this size.

Flaws

  • Some units come with the wrong remote;

  • Standard display refresh rate;

  • Not a very large number of connectors;

  • There is no Smart TV.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32 T2

Rating: 4.7

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32 T2

If you want to buy a TV with Smart TV support, then you don’t have to spend a lot of money on it. You can meet the 15 thousand rubles limited by us. It is this price tag that Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32 T2 has. But you will have to come to terms with certain disadvantages of this device. For example, with a resolution – here it is 1366×765 pixels.

The screen located on the front panel of this TV has a diagonal of 31.5 inches. Its refresh rate is standard. Viewing angles are almost maximum, which is good news. And the display is able to boast a response time of 6.5 ms. This is especially important when watching action movies and connecting a game console.

The Android operating system is responsible for what is happening on the screen. Unfortunately, sometimes it feels like the components provided to it are not enough, sometimes the menu starts to slow down. But if you are going to use only YouTube, then you are unlikely to seriously pay attention to this. But the lack of support for the DVB-S2 standard cannot be overlooked. If you want to connect a satellite dish, you will also have to spend money on a receiver. As for the rest of the digital TV standards, they are understood without any problems.

To reproduce sound, two speakers with a power of 5 watts are used here. Not the best acoustics, but it is enough for a relatively small TV. If someone is sleeping nearby, you can use the headphone jack. There are two USB ports and a trinity of HDMI sockets on the back of the device. Nice set, no complaints! Connection to the router is carried out either by wire or via Wi-Fi 802.11ac. There is also a Bluetooth module on the TV, which will make happy the owners of wireless headphones.

In a word, Xiaomi turned out to be an excellent budget TV. It weighs only 3.9 kg, which greatly simplifies its installation, and delivery too. If the standard stand does not suit you, this model can be placed on the wall – it supports 100x100mm VESA mount.

A serious problem of the TV is in the country of its origin. Officially in Russia, Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 32 T2 is not for sale. And the article is being written at the time of the coronavirus epidemic, so shipping the device from China will cause certain difficulties.

Advantages

  • Good viewing angles;

  • Implemented support for Smart TV;

  • Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules;

  • There is a headphone jack;

  • Plenty of HDMI and USB sockets;

  • VESA 100x100mm mount standard supported;

  • The TV turned out to be extremely light.

Flaws

  • Not officially sold in Russia;

  • Resolution is only 720p;

  • Screen refresh rate – only 60 Hz;

  • No support for satellite digital TV standard.

Thomson T43FSL5130

Rating: 4.6

Thomson T43FSL5130

Another TV with a 43-inch screen and fairly thin bezels. He stands on very large legs. If you want to hang the device on the wall, then no one will stop you from doing it – there are holes for mounting VESA 200×100 mm on the back panel. To place this model on the wall, the help of a second person is not required, since its weight does not exceed 7.2 kg.

The TV has a standard LCD matrix with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 50 Hz. However, it should be noted that there is a function here that makes the picture a little smoother, at least at the software level. This is especially felt in games and when watching action scenes. Gamers will also appreciate the 6.5ms response time. As for the viewing angles, they are the maximum. This is good news for those who are going to watch TV regularly with a large group.

This model can be connected to a conventional antenna, and a “cable”, and a satellite “dish” – the device supports absolutely all digital TV standards. Or you can forget about television altogether, watching content online – for this purpose, Thomson T43FSL5130 received support for Smart TV. Interaction with the router is carried out either via Wi-Fi or via a wire. Unfortunately, from time to time you will encounter stutters in the menu. Well, for the sake of lowering the price tag, the manufacturer could not help but save on the processor and the amount of RAM …

For sound output, two 8-watt speakers are used here. Not bad, many 43-inch TVs with a similar price tag can not boast of such power. If you have speakers or a soundbar, you can use the optical audio output. There is also a headphone jack. Alas, wireless models are not supported, as the TV did not receive a Bluetooth module.

If we continue to talk about interfaces, we can note the presence of a pair of HDMI sockets. It seems that the owner of such a TV will not need more of them. Yes, and two USB ports is the maximum that is required.

Advantages

  • There is a Smart TV;

  • Good viewing angles;

  • Thin bezels around the screen;

  • All digital TV standards are supported;

  • Decent speaker power;

  • There is an optical audio output;

  • Don’t forget the headphone jack
  • There is the possibility of mounting on the wall;

  • TV is not heavy.

Flaws

  • A Bluetooth module would not hurt;

  • There are slowdowns;

  • Long turn on and off;

  • Too big remote control.

SkyLine 43LST5970

Rating: 4.5

SkyLine 43LST5970

This TV differs from many others in that its matrix is made using VA technology. This made the blacks a little deeper. The disadvantage of this solution is that at some viewing angles the picture loses its richness of colors.

The resolution of the 43-inch display is 1920×1080 pixels. The refresh rate is standard, in this regard, you should not expect surprises from any inexpensive TV. As for the response time, it is 8 ms. Not a record, but this parameter cannot be called prohibitively slow either.

This model supports Smart TV. This feature is implemented here based on the Android operating system. Unfortunately, the power of the installed processor cannot be called impressive, and therefore the user will regularly encounter slowdowns. If online content is not interesting, an antenna will come to the rescue. Unfortunately, a receiver is required to connect a “satellite”, since the list of supported digital TV standards is limited to DVB-T2 and DVB-C.

Perhaps the main advantages of the SkyLine 43LST5970 are the speakers and a lot of connectors. The total power of the two emitters is 20 watts. It’s pretty decent. Only TVs with a three times higher price tag can boast of a higher parameter. As for the sockets, among them there are three HDMI inputs, a couple of USB ports and even VGA, which is necessary for connecting a desktop computer. There is also a coaxial audio output – for those who do not have enough built-in acoustics for some reason. Well, if someone is sleeping nearby, you can use the headphone jack. And the manufacturer also endowed his creation with old nests – for example, there is a SCART here. Just in case.

This TV provides access to the global web either via Wi-Fi or by wire. Some of these models are also capable of boasting a Bluetooth module, but this is not the case. Interestingly, this is one of the heaviest devices in our review – the scales below it will show 8.5 kg if we weigh it without a stand. As expected, this model can be hung on the wall – this requires a VESA mount 200×200 mm.

Advantages

  • The screen gives a realistic picture;

  • Implemented support for Smart TV;

  • Good sound;

  • A very large number of USB and HDMI inputs;

  • There is a headphone jack;

  • Not forgotten coaxial audio output;

  • Can be hung on the wall;

  • Relatively light weight.

Flaws

  • Not the best viewing angles

  • Standard screen refresh rate;

  • Satellite digital TV standard not supported;

  • A bluetooth module would be nice.

Hyundai H-LED43ET3001

Rating: 4.4

Hyundai H-LED43ET3001

Another TV with a fairly thin frame of the screen, the diagonal of which is 43 inches. This device will show itself well in the bedroom and relatively small living room. At the same time, you can connect a wide variety of equipment to it, for which you should thank the abundance of connectors located on the rear panel. He also understands all digital TV standards without any problems, including satellite DVB-S2.

The display of this model has Full HD resolution. The refresh rate is standard, which is to be expected. The response time does not exceed 6.5 ms, which is good news. Everything is in order here and with viewing angles. Perhaps you can not find fault with the screen. No, there are TVs with a better matrix, but they ask for at least twice as much.

Hyundai H-LED43ET3001 includes two speakers. The power of each is 8 watts. The sound is quite good. If there is not enough volume reserve, you can use the coaxial audio output by connecting a soundbar or speakers to it. The device also has three HDMI inputs and two USB ports.

As expected, the TV has the ability to mount on the wall. To do this, the user will need a bracket for the VESA standard 200x200mm. You can cope with hanging alone, since the weight of this model does not exceed 6.6 kg.

The manufacturer turned out a great TV. The only drawback is the lack of Smart TV. If you want to watch through this YouTube model, you will need an appropriate smart set-top box. Or a game console that has this app. You can also find fault with the lack of a headphone jack. Unfortunately, this is the case when you have to forget about them.

Advantages

  • Good viewing angles;

  • Not very thick screen bezels;

  • All digital TV standards are supported;

  • Good built-in acoustics;

  • There is a coaxial audio output;

  • A large number of connectors;

  • TV turned out easy;

  • Supports VESA mount.

Flaws

  • There is no way to connect headphones;

  • Standard screen refresh rate;

  • No Smart TV.

BBK 43LEM-1063/FTS2C

Rating: 4.3

BBK 43LEM-1063/FTS2C

Most of the TVs included in this review have a 43-inch screen at their disposal. The fact is that such devices are the most popular. This is the perfect choice for the bedroom. And the living room of many people is not so large that it requires a noticeably larger TV. And some people buy a similar device even for installation in a children’s room!

BBK 43LEM-1063/FTS2C also has a 43-inch display. Its resolution is 1920×1080 pixels. The refresh rate is, of course, the standard 50 Hz. The response time is not ideal, but 8.5 ms allows you to play without much discomfort. Also, the screen has maximum viewing angles.

For what is happening on the display, the standard firmware is responsible, which does not have smart functionality. This means that viewing YouTube and online cinemas is possible only with the help of some external devices. But nothing slows down! As for TV, BBK 43LEM-1063/FTS2C supports all digital standards. Therefore, it is possible to connect both an on-air antenna and a satellite “dish” to it.

Sound output is carried out through two 8-watt speakers. Perhaps this is a typical parameter for a mid-budget TV. As they say, it could be worse. If the sound quality is not satisfactory, then it can be sent to the soundbar or speakers using the coaxial audio output. You can also use headphones. But only wired, Bluetooth is missing here.

The TV plays most of the current video formats without any problems. Reading is carried out from a flash drive or an external hard drive. A single USB socket is used to connect them. Well, to connect the game console and other similar equipment, three HDMI connectors are used. The weight of this model is 7.3 kg. Like other modern TVs with such a large screen, BBK 43LEM-1063/FTS2C provides the ability to mount on the wall. To do this, you will need a 200x200mm VESA compatible bracket.

Advantages

  • The TV is very light;

  • Can be hung on the wall;

  • A large number of HDMI connectors;

  • Fairly thin screen bezels

  • Don’t forget the headphone jack

  • There is a coaxial audio output;

  • All digital TV standards are supported;

  • Good viewing angles.

Flaws

  • Only one USB port;

  • Standard screen refresh rate;

  • Missing Smart TV;

  • The remote control must be aimed in the direction of the TV.

TELEFUNKEN TF-LED43S81T2S

Rating: 4.1

TELEFUNKEN TF-LED43S81T2S

It seems to many that TELEFUNKEN is a European brand. In fact, the ubiquitous “Chinese” have been producing their own products under this brand for quite a long time. That is why a model called TF-LED43S81T2S can be bought for only 15 thousand rubles. For some parameters, it is inferior to competitors, but there is still a point in acquiring it.

Let’s start with the advantages of this TV. On its front panel there is a good screen, the diagonal of which is 42.5 inches. Full HD resolution allows you not to spit about the clarity of the picture. Nothing bad can be said about the viewing angles – they are the maximum. Well, the response time, which is 6.5 ms, should appeal to fans to play all sorts of shooters.

Another important feature of the TV is the support for Smart TV. Android is used as the firmware here with its heap of available applications. But it must be admitted that the device is based on a far from the most powerful processor, so you will regularly encounter slowdowns. But nothing can be done about it, because this problem is inherent in all inexpensive TVs. It remains to add that the connection to the router is carried out either using a wire or via Wi-Fi.

The device should also please with its connectors. There are several outdated sockets here that are quite capable of being useful – for example, a VGA port. Three HDMI inputs are used to connect modern technology. Well, two USB ports allow you to simultaneously connect a flash drive and an external hard drive. Also on the back of the TV was a place for a coaxial audio output and a headphone jack.

Unfortunately, it is in terms of sound that TELEFUNKEN TF-LED43S81T2S has the most complaints. Modest acoustics has been introduced here, consisting of a pair of 6-watt speakers. So you want to immediately bring the sound to some speakers. It also confuses the amount of internal memory, which is 8 GB – many applications cannot be installed here. But even more disappointing is the lack of support for the satellite digital TV standard. If you want to connect a “dish”, you will also have to get a receiver. As for DVB-C and DVB-T2, these standards are fully supported.

The weight of this model is 7.2 kg. If you don’t have a cabinet to put this TV on, the 200x200mm VESA mounting holes will come to the rescue.

Advantages

  • There is the possibility of mounting on the wall;

  • Very light weight;

  • There is a Smart TV;

  • There is a headphone jack;

  • Not forgotten coaxial audio output;

  • A large number of HDMI and USB connectors;

  • Good viewing angles.

Flaws

  • Standard screen refresh rate;

  • Modest amount of memory and processor power;

  • Not the best built-in acoustics;

  • No support for satellite digital TV standard;

  • Inhibited reaction to the remote control.

Polarline 40PL51TC

Rating: 4.1

Polarline 40PL51TC

Typically, inexpensive TVs are placed on a cabinet with two legs. If you want to get a model with a more elegant solution, we recommend that you take a look at the Polarline 40PL51TC. This device uses a D-shaped stand, which makes its appearance noticeably more interesting. And, of course, the manufacturer endowed his creation with thin frames.

This TV is medium in size. It displays the image on a 40-inch screen. At the same time, the display resolution is 1920×1080 pixels, which is good news. As for the response time, it is 8.5 ms. Viewing angles are close to the maximum, but still they are not. The reason for this lies in the manufacturing technology of the LCD matrix. The fact is that the manufacturer tried to increase the depth of black colors, albeit losing because of this in viewing angles. We can safely say that Polarline 40PL51TC has the best color reproduction in this price segment, but you can only notice this when you are directly in front of the TV – when viewed from the side, the picture becomes more faded. Well, you can not talk about the refresh rate of the screen – it is standard.

The device is intended for viewing terrestrial and cable television. If you want to connect a satellite dish, you will have to use the receiver. Reception of a picture from it, as well as from other types of equipment, is carried out through three HDMI inputs and more outdated connectors. Even on the back of the TV, there are a couple of USB ports designed to read media files from a flash drive or external hard drive. As for the Internet connection, it is not implemented here, since the device does not have Smart TV.

Like many other cheap TVs, Polarline 40PL51TC has modest built-in speakers. Its total power is only 12 watts. Fortunately, the manufacturer endowed his creation with a coaxial audio output, so the owner of this model will be able to output sound to a soundbar or speakers. There is also a headphone jack, which can also come in handy. In particular, it is he who will help send sound to inexpensive speakers that do not have a digital audio input.

This is not only one of the cheapest TVs in our selection, but also one of the lightest examples. The scales below it will show only 6.5 kg. If the D-shaped stand does not suit you, you can hang the device on the wall – for this you need a bracket designed for the VESA 200×100 mm standard.

Advantages

  • High-quality color reproduction;

  • Very low cost;

  • A large number of USB and HDMI connectors;

  • There is a coaxial audio output;

  • Don’t forget the headphone jack

  • There is the possibility of mounting on the wall;

  • The TV turned out to be very light;

  • Someone will need SCART and VGA.

Flaws

  • Standard sweep frequency;

  • Viewing angles are not ideal;

  • Missing Smart TV;

  • No support for satellite digital TV standard;

  • Weak speakers;

  • Not the best control logic in the menu.

Sharp LC-40FI3012E

Rating: 4.0

Sharp LC-40FI3012E

Another very inexpensive TV. For this model with a 40-inch screen, they ask for only 13 thousand rubles, especially during various sales. Of course, in some respects, the device is much inferior to its competitors. For example, the frame of the screen installed here turned out to be too wide. Also, someone will not be satisfied with the 50-Hz refresh rate. But the rest of the TV is almost impossible to find fault with.

The display of this model has a resolution of Full HD. This means that you will watch movies with great comfort, the detail will be very high. Color rendition also does not raise any special questions. However, it is not recommended to look at the screen at a large angle – the colors begin to fade. In fact, it is felt that the manufacturer saved the most on the LCD matrix.

The TV tuner built into this model supports all three of the most common standards. This means that you can connect a satellite dish to your TV without any receiver. The device also deserves compliments for the built-in acoustics, the total power of which reaches 20 watts. However, if the sound quality still does not suit you, no one will forbid you to use the optical audio output. And there is also a headphone jack, which can be useful if you do not want to wake your child or soulmate.

You can connect a game console and other similar devices to the TV. For this, three HDMI inputs are used, and several more outdated sockets. As for reading media files from an external drive, you can use two USB ports to connect it.

The weight of this TV is 7.4 kg. By default, it is placed on the cabinet with two legs. If you want to hang the device on the wall, you will need a bracket for the VESA standard 200×200 mm.

Advantages

  • All digital TV standards are supported;

  • Very loud sound

  • A large number of USB and HDMI connectors;

  • There is an optical audio output;

  • There is a headphone jack;

  • There is the possibility of mounting on the wall;

  • Very light weight.

Flaws

  • Viewing angles are far from maximum;

  • Standard refresh rate;

  • Thick screen bezel

  • Very bright LED;

  • Missing Smart TV;

  • In some modes, the sound may resonate against the body.

HARPER 40F670T 40″ (2018)

Rating: 4.0

HARPER 40F670T 40″ (2018)

Finishing our selection is another inexpensive TV. It also displays a picture in Full HD resolution. At the same time, the device is equipped with elegant legs and a very thin frame. I don’t want to hang it on the wall at all, although there is such an opportunity – it supports VESA mounting in a 200×200 mm format. By the way, the TV turned out to be extremely light – its weight, excluding legs, is exactly 6 kg.

The 40-inch LCD panel located here is made using VA technology. This indicates correct color reproduction with very deep blacks. However, this technology has one significant drawback, which is not the best viewing angles. And the screen is not capable of boasting an increased refresh rate, but at this cost, nothing else was expected. The response time, if anyone is interested, is 8.5 ms.

The image here is accompanied by a loud sound. The built-in acoustics, which included two 10-watt speakers, is responsible for its reproduction. If suddenly the sound quality does not suit you, you can connect some external speaker system to the TV. To do this, you can use either a coaxial audio output or a headphone jack.

This model supports cable and terrestrial digital TV standards. But you will have to forget about connecting the “satellite” – this can only be done through the receiver. To connect it, you can use one of the three HDMI inputs. Also on the rear panel there is one USB port and all sorts of obsolete sockets. Interestingly, among the latter there is VGA – an interface through which a computer with an old video card is connected, which is not capable of producing a high-quality picture.

Advantages

  • The TV is very light;

  • There is the possibility of mounting on the wall;

  • Plenty of HDMI inputs

  • There is a headphone jack;

Conclusion

As you noticed, this review includes a large number of models from Chinese manufacturers. You should not be afraid of this. If about ten years ago in the Celestial Empire they created low-grade TVs, the menu of which did not even have a translation into European languages, but now such devices successfully compete with Japanese and South Korean models. This is most true in relation to budget TVs, which were discussed in this article.
