65-inch TVs have become a kind of compromise for users: on the one hand, their display is large enough for comfortable viewing of TV programs, and on the other hand, such models are not too expensive. At the present stage, all of them are equipped with the Smart TV function: the only difference is the platform on which it is implemented.

Since this segment of the market has become very popular over the past 2 years, the editors of Expertology magazine ranked the 11 best 65-inch TVs. The following characteristics were used to select goods for the final list:

  1. image transmission quality;
  2. sound system implementation;
  3. the presence of progressive features;
  4. feedback from owners and opinions of in-house experts;
  5. reliability parameters;
  6. Compliance of the basic functionality with the requested price.

The analysis of technical characteristics was carried out on the resource rankquality.com.

Rating: 4.9

The choice between two equal candidates was very difficult, but in the end, the first line of the rating went to LG OLED65W9P. In fact, this is a complete alternative to the Samsung QE65Q90RAU with slightly modified equivalent functions. So, instead of the ecosystem from Yandex, this TV supports LG Smart ThinQ, and the sound is provided by the same 6 speakers with a subwoofer and Dolby Atmos, only from a different brand. By the way, they are taken out by a separate panel, reducing the weight of the device for unhindered installation on a hinged bracket.

As experts note, it is possible to detect the difference between competing models only if you know how TVs with OLED and QLED matrices should work. The refresh rate of the picture in the LG OLED65W9P is also 100 Hz with a software increase to 200. There is support for virtual reality, display dimming mode, remote control and implemented voice control. But the amount of built-in memory here is 8 GB, which is why the model works significantly faster than its rival. However, a huge price can compensate for this plus – it is it that is a deterrent factor for consumers.

  • full technological and technical equipment in accordance with the requirements of modern standards;

  • remote soundbar, which makes it easier to mount the device on the wall;

  • the presence of voice control;

  • great design;

  • the highest image quality.

  • the price for a TV reaches 335 thousand rubles.

QLED Samsung QE65Q90RAU

Rating: 4.8

The Samsung QE65Q90RAU followed in the footsteps of the QE65Q67RAU, correcting some of the shortcomings and moving into the category of premium 65-inch screens. Its main feature: the combination of excellent picture quality with amazing sound, which is provided by 6 speakers with a total power of 60 watts. Together with tweeters, the model contains a compact subwoofer and has a surround sound system – not every home stereo system can compete with such a set.

As for other aspects of TV, everything here is completely identical to QE65Q67RAU: go down to the 4th line of the rating and repeat the past. The only difference lies in the even greater bulkiness (35 kg with stand) and power consumption (255 W). The rest needs no special introduction.

  • high-quality upgrade of the sound system: 6 speakers + subwoofer;

  • Motion Rate at 200 Hz, Picture Quality Index boosted at 3.7 kHz;

  • the presence of a dimming system Direct Full Array Elite;

  • belongs to the Yandex Smart Home ecosystem;

  • has voice control and decorative Ambient-mode.

  • bulky TV with a fairly high power consumption.

NanoCell LG 65SM9800

Rating: 4.7

NANOCELL LG 65SM9800.webp

This screen relies on manufacturability and an abundance of attractive features. But among users, a proper response, alas, could not be found. It’s all the fault of the “one-sidedness” of the creators, who spit on external data for the sake of revolutionary stuffing. Replace the TFT IPS panel with QLED and all problems are solved! But no: we are content with what we have. But with the functions of local screen dimming, support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Ultra HD 4k, as well as a screen refresh rate of 100 Hz.

In addition to joining the LG Smart ThinQ ecosystem and a whole host of progressive features, the LG 65SM9800 puts its trust in sound quality. That is why two more speakers were added to the two standard speakers, and their total power became 40 watts. Given the automatic volume equalization, support for surround sound, Dolby Atmos and the presence of a subwoofer, you should not start talking about any additional stereo system. It is worth noting the presence in the device of voice control, 2 GB of internal memory, as well as the True Motion system, which increases the screen refresh rate to 200 Hz. Revolutionary thing.

  • special emphasis on sound quality (4 speakers of 10 W each + subwoofer and a set of additional functions);

  • part of the LG Smart ThinQ ecosystem;

  • includes more than a dozen advanced features;

  • the presence of voice control.

  • matrix TFT IPS.

QLED Samsung QE65Q67RAU

Rating: 4.7

Slowly but surely, we have crept up to TVs with a QLED display. Samsung QE65Q67RAU is one of the brightest representatives of this segment, which received the highest quality rating from Russian buyers. It is based on the Tizen system, through which Smart TV technology is implemented. Among the useful features are the standards for transmitting images in Ultra HD 4k and HDR10 +, as well as the presence of progressive scan.

Like all representatives of Samsung, QE65Q67RAU is bulky (26 kg) and high power consumption (203 W). However, it implements a couple of cool solutions:

  1. Ambient mode, allowing the TV to organically fit into the environment;
  2. dimming function Ultimate UHD Dimming;
  3. Motion Rate, which increases the frame rate up to 200 Hz;
  4. the Smart Home system, thanks to which it can be included in the Yandex Smart Home ecosystem.
  5. In view of such opportunities, the price tag of almost 100 thousand rubles looks quite justified.

  • visual style changed for the better;

  • an abundance of a number of additional functions;

  • Picture Quality Index at 3.3 kHz;

  • The optimum ratio of price and quality.

  • bulky TV with high power consumption.

Panasonic TX-65GXR900

Rating: 4.6

The Panasonic TX-65GXR900 is a pretty interesting LED TV. On the one hand, it has more modest personal settings for displaying the picture. On the other hand, its progressiveness reaches a new level. Among the formats of work is not only Ultra HD 4k, but also HDR10, HDR10 +, and even Dolby Vision. Along with smart backlighting, it has a Local Dimming screen dimming function, and the dynamic scene index reaches a value of 1600 points.

In addition to the standard set of speakers 2×10 W Panasonic TX-65GXR900 has built-in digital receivers and a whole range of connection ports (including HDMI, USB, AV and component input). There is support for Dolby Atmos technology, which allows you to get high-quality stereo sound without an additional headset. The only serious drawback of the model is its heavy weight (27.5 kilograms), which can negatively affect the desire to hang the TV on the wall.

  • the presence of support for Dolby functions (Vision and Atmos);

  • there is a local dimming of the screen;

  • built-in light sensor;

  • surround sound;

  • high quality color rendering.

  • great weight.

LG 65UU661H

Rating: 4.5

LG 65UU661H.webp

The sixth line LG 65UU661H is due to high quality both in terms of reliability and functionality. Despite the 50 Hz refresh rate, the model provides excellent technical parameters, including for flexible customization of the image display. Brightness adjustable up to 500 cd/m2there is a progressive scan, and the viewing angle is 178 °.

Unlike the previous competitor, this screen has no affinity for the Smart Home system, but supports VR 360 and has Pro:Centric software, an exclusive development from LG. Otherwise, the differences are minimal: the sound system lost Dolby support, the TV itself began to consume 177 watts of energy and “threw off” a couple of extra pounds. In terms of design, it significantly surpasses Samsung’s UE65RU7200U – it’s pointless to argue with the obvious.

  • support for virtual reality technology;

  • relatively low weight (21 kg);

  • wide range of brightness settings;

  • catchy corporate design.

  • large price differentiation (from 75 to 128 thousand rubles);

  • lack of support for Dolby Atmos technology.

Samsung UE65RU7200U

Rating: 4.5

SAMSUNG UE65RU7200U2.webp

An important difference between Samsung UE65RU7200U and LG 65UM740 is that the former can be connected not only to the Samsung SmartThings proprietary ecosystem, but also to Smart Home from Yandex. In this regard, they are pre-installed with the voice assistant Alice, which works much better than the basic LG assistant.

Otherwise, the model almost completely repeats the capabilities of the opponent, except that the image transmission quality is better (with the same refresh rate of 100 Hz). But there are minor problems in ergonomics. The fact is that an already heavy TV (25.1 kg) comes with a 3-kilogram stand. On the one hand, it’s bad, but on the other hand, the leg can perform a camouflage function – connection wires are hidden under it. Note also the awkward remote and “annoying” bezels, not thin enough to be invisible and not wide enough to leave questions about the design.

  • the ability to join the internal ecosystem of Samsung and the “Smart Home” from Yandex;

  • refresh rate 100 Hz;

  • acceptable sound quality.

  • problems with the ergonomics of the TV itself and the complete remote control.

LG 65UM7450

Rating: 4.4

LG 65UM7450.jpeg

Despite the seemingly point changes, the difference between the LG 65UM740 and the previous competitor is very significant. The frame rate here is 100 Hz, there is a flicker reduction system and Direct LED backlighting, finalized in the LG laboratories. We also note a lot of additional features, such as support for virtual reality helmets and voice control. Smart TV runs on webOS and is characterized by fast loading, especially with a high-speed uninterrupted Internet connection.

The stereo system is similar to Toshiba 65U5855EC and allows you to do without additional acoustics. By the way, the TV can be part of the LG Smart ThinQ ecosystem and become part of the smart home. The cost of the model varies greatly from the profitable 47 to the expected 66 thousand rubles – we advise you to look well for all available offers.

  • the ability to connect to the “smart home” system;

  • refresh rate 100 Hz;

  • support for VR glasses;

  • control with voice commands.

  • some devices are experiencing issues with voice command recognition.

Toshiba 65U5855EC

Rating: 4.3

TOSHIBA 65U5855EC.webp

We think that the starting point for understanding the important technical characteristics of TVs is given. We will focus on especially important aspects, keeping in mind that all their other characteristics are equal and identical. In the case of the Toshiba 65U5855EC, we can note a weak run-up of contrast settings (only 1200:1) and an increased power consumption of 180 watts. Perhaps this is due to the more powerful installed speakers (2×10 W) with Dolby Digital decoders and a volume equalization function.

In this model, manufacturers have abandoned the use of a standard LED, replacing it with a Direct version of the backlight. It turned out better than TCL, but worse than LG and Samsung. The OS for Smart TV is the Android platform, and it works more stable than in BBK 65LEX-8127/UTS2C.

  • powerful and stable backlight Direct LED;

  • loud, voluminous sound;

  • stable operation of applications in Smart TV mode.

  • increased power consumption;

  • small range of contrast adjustment.

Rating: 4.1

TCL L65P6US.webp

The line above is a TV from TCL, which has received good support among users. Compared to its competitor from BBK, it looks just great: it supports not only 4k UHD, but also HDR 10, has a refresh rate of 60 Hz and is based on a Linux system. The latter allows it to work well with applications, but for many it is too difficult to configure broadcast settings.

By the way, despite the sophisticated look TCL L65P6US weighs about 22.5 kilograms. This fact must be taken into account both during installation and during transportation. Despite the same 2 speakers of 8 W each, this version of the TV screen sounds much better than BBK: the reason for this is the surround sound function with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS codecs. The model has a drive for recording TV shows, so you can postpone watching your favorite series until later if serious business suddenly arises. According to the settings, everything is also fine, only 8 ms of pixel delay has not gone away.

  • very good stereo system with surround sound support;

  • refresh rate 60 Hz;

  • the presence of a drive for recording programs;

  • wireless support.

  • inconvenient and complicated setup menu.

BBK 65LEX-8127/UTS2C

Rating: 4.0

BBK 65LEX-8127UTS2C.webp

BBK equipment is gradually losing its relevance among domestic consumers, and the 65LEX-8127 / UTS2C TV has not become a big exception to the rule. Despite the fact that its parameters are generally similar to competitors, users were able to find a few nuances. But first about the pros. It supports 4k UHD resolution, pre-installed Android Smart TV 2019, LED backlight, and pre-installed DVB and Teletext receivers. By default, 1100 channels are built into it, and for many this is a decisive factor in favor of the purchase.

The built-in stereo of the BBK 65LEX-8127/UTS2C can be called quite good: 2 speakers of 8 W produce high-quality sound, but a subwoofer or a soundbar would be nice. The picture quality is also impressive: the brightness is adjustable in the range up to 300 cd/m2, the contrast ratio is 4000:1, and the viewing angles are optimal (178°). The refresh rate is generally neutral (50 Hz), but the pixel response time of 8 ms can be called a small drawback. We also note the dissatisfaction of users regarding the speed of installed applications – this means that 2 GB of RAM simply cannot cope with the load.

  • relatively light weight: 19.3 kg;

  • 3 HDMI 2.0 and 2 USB ports;

  • good stereo sound (but a full-fledged speaker system will not hurt either).

  • friezes and freezes of installed applications are observed;

  • pixel response time.
