Despite the fact that tablets have long been able to easily cope with the function of an electronic “reader”, classic e-ink e-books still have their loyal audience. Of course, the range of such e-books is very limited, but among what is on sale, you can pick up decent options. The editors of Expertology magazine have prepared for you an overview of the most worthy e-book models in 2021 with recommendations for choosing.

Why are these models the best?

As we have already said, gadgets of this type have been strongly replaced by tablets in recent years, which are becoming more affordable, so the choice is small. However, e-books are still being produced and, it must be said, are sometimes quite expensive, especially in color. But there are also compact pocket models, which are clearly more affordable than any tablet, so if the goal is to read text documents with illustrations, then such a purchase makes sense.

When compiling a selection for this review, we studied the offers of the largest Russian trading platforms, analyzed the feedback from users for each model and compared it with the opinions of independent testers.

We also listened to the opinions of Western colleagues from authoritative specialized publications, such as, for example,
wirecutter – This is a division of The New York Times, which deals precisely with the analysis and objective ratings of all kinds of equipment, including electronic gadgets. We also compared the results of a study conducted by our marketers with the current ranking of the best e-books of 2021, published by a well-known specialized publication
PC Magazineand in many respects our conclusions coincided.

How to choose an e-book

Given, in principle, an extremely small range of e-book readers in 2021, there is no need to talk about any thoughtful choice, but we have to proceed from what we have. However, we will give you some explanations and recommendations to help you navigate.

Screen type

The screen, which is quite natural, is the most important part of the e-book, this is quite obvious. And readers do not use screens in the usual sense, as in smartphones – with backlighting and all the accompanying “goodies” like multi-touch.

This is the fundamental difference between the e-book – it uses the technology of “electronic ink” and, accordingly, in an almost metaphorical expression of “electronic paper”. There is no backlight, everything is visually as close as possible to a real paper book. This is the point, and not least for this reason, e-readers are still on the market.

So, as the technology improved, several generations of screens for electronic readers appeared. Let’s briefly talk about the most important ones.

  1. E-ink Pearl – the most “ancient” type of screen with a low resolution of 800 × 600 pixels. Clarity leaves something to be desired in the context of 2021 standards, but they are also the cheapest, and you can quickly get used to the imperfect image of the letters.
  2. E-ink Pearl HD – it is obvious that this is the same technology as the previous one, but here at least the resolution is higher – 1024 × 758. These two types of screen are only available on older models, which may still be on sale in small quantities.
  3. E-ink Carta – but this is actually a modern and basic type of screen. The resolution here is the same as that of the previous type – up to 1024 × 758, there is also less – the same 800 × 600, but the contrast is higher, and the image will look better anyway.

Screen size

This is not such a trivial question, since, again, the choice is small, and it is advisable to immediately focus on the best option. So, the most common size is currently 6 inches. This is enough for a comfortable reading of fiction. There are models smaller – 5 inches, but there are very few of them on sale. There are more – 7 and even 8 inches, and here they are just the most expensive, but also the most affordable on sale.

Control

Previously, readers were controlled only by buttons, but the next generations are already equipped with touch screens. So here is a personal choice – if push-button paging does not bother you, you can buy a regular reader, and also save money. But if you are seriously accustomed to touch screens, and even your laptop has a touch screen, then it would be better not to torture yourself and buy a model that suits your habit.

Format recognition

The most important point, which for some reason many do not take into account, and as a result they get disappointed. E-book files can be in different formats – DJVU, FB2, EPUB or regular DOC, TXT or PDF. If you already have a favorite library on your computer that you want to transfer to an electronic reader, then find out which file formats you have and compare them with the characteristics of the selected model.

Technical points

Electronic readers have many other characteristics, the details of which we will not go into, but only tell you what to look for.

So, the reader can only be connected via cable, or it can be equipped with a wireless module. With a battery charge, as a rule, there are no problems; such devices need to be charged on average no more than once a week, or even less often.

The speed of work depends exactly on the same characteristics as any other gadget – the processor and RAM, the higher their performance, the better. For reference, a 600 MHz processor is considered weak for an e-book, 1500 MHz and higher is already good. RAM 128-256 MB is very small, 1024 or more is good.

Files are stored in electronic readers in the built-in memory, and the principle “the more the better” also works here. Typically, such gadgets have built-in memory from 2 to 16 GB – you can easily navigate by the volume of your library, whether the amount of memory of the model in question is enough for you. Some instances allow the use of MicroSD memory cards, in which case there are no problems at all.

The best black and white e-books

In the first and most extensive selection, we will look at e-book readers with monochrome screens. Such models are the most popular due to the affordability of the price and often the complete absence of the need for any color.

DIGMA e63S 4 GB

Rating: 4.4

DIGMA e63S 4 GB

First, we will traditionally consider the most inexpensive model, and it is also the most controversial of all presented. We must say right away that it has tangible shortcomings and we will not recommend it to everyone in a row. However, the ultra-affordable price and generally good performance make this e-reader suitable for a number of purposes.

This model can serve as a spare to the main reader, you can take it on a short trip where you would not want to take the main expensive device, you can give it to a child who is likely to quickly disable it.

Now let’s go through the main technical characteristics of the reader with brief explanations and transcripts so that you fully understand what you are dealing with.

Let’s start with the screen. The screen itself, it would seem, is not bad, since this is an E-Ink Carta. But the resolution is 800×600 pixels, and the diagonal dimensions are 6 inches. With this ratio, the pixel density will be quite low – 167 per inch, which means that small fonts will grain. This is not a flaw, but simply a reality that you need to be prepared for when buying this model. Grades of gray – 16. When turning over, artifacts are practically not observed, and this is already good. Naturally, there is no backlight at this price. Management, of course, is not touch, but only buttons.

From the electronics side, we see the following picture. Processor – “living wage” – with a frequency of only 600 MHz. But tests show that the device works surprisingly quickly, and starts to clearly slip only when it starts working with more or less “heavy” files. Built-in memory of 4 GB is almost a minimum, but microSD and microSDHC memory cards are supported, and this solves the problem.

What is definitely pleasing is the range of recognizable formats. We are talking about e-book files – the reader recognizes everything from simple TXT to PalmDOC. But that only applies to books. In terms of multimedia formats, the possibilities here are already weaker – only JPEG, PNG, BMP, ZIP and GIF formats are recognized.

As for autonomy, there is complete order. The 1500 mAh battery provides several weeks of work, so you will need to charge the device on average once a month. The time for a full charge from a full discharge is about two hours.

Advantages

  • good speed with a frankly weak processor;

  • many recognizable file formats;

  • microSD and microSDHC memory cards are supported;

  • sufficiently capacious battery;

  • super affordable price.

Flaws

  • all the disadvantages of a super-budget model – a weak processor, low screen resolution, etc.

PocketBook 616 8 GB black

Rating: 4.5

POCKETBOOK 616 8 GB BLACK

Now consider a significantly more expensive model, but which still remains in the budget category, given the very low cost of the previous reader. This is a reader of the popular PocketBook brand, which is in demand both here and abroad. And here, in terms of performance, everything already looks much more favorable.

The difference for the better is already noticeable by the characteristics of the screen. So, the resolution here is already 1024×758, the type is Carta, and with a diagonal of 6 inches, the pixel density is 212 per inch, and this is not bad for an e-book. What is very important for many is that this model has a screen backlight, moreover, adjustable. And it is really well made, because in combination with the matte texture of the screen surface, it simultaneously makes it possible to read a book in the dark, but does not turn the reader into a bad likeness of a smartphone.

In terms of electronics, we also see a much more favorable picture here than in the super-cheap model described above. So, the processor here is already with a frequency of 1000 MHz, which, of course, is not a record, but it is quite good for this price category. RAM – 256 MB. Not enough, but enough for moderate work with not too heavy files. The built-in memory is already more or less a good amount – 8 GB, and external microSD flash cards are also supported.

The battery capacity in this model is slightly less than the previous one – 1300 mAh, but it’s still a lot for this format and a full charge should be enough for 8000 page turns. Of course, you need to understand that frequent use of the backlight will drain the battery more intensively.

Remarkably, users in their numerous reviews on the largest trading platforms for the most part praise not even the image quality, but tactile sensations – the way the reader lies in the hand, the surface texture, the minimum weight that the hand does not get tired of. As for the image, the pleasant adjustable backlight receives the most positive reviews.

From the review of a Yandex.Market user with the Level 3 Gadget Inspector status: “The display is gorgeous, as if you are reading a real book, your eyes do not hurt, even if you use the backlight. Very light and compact. Holds a charge for a long time. The fact that there is no sensor is even a plus for me, there are no accidental clicks.

Advantages

  • good screen resolution;

  • adjustable screen backlight;

  • good processor frequency;

  • support for memory cards;

  • capacious battery;

  • minimum weight;

  • comfortable grip and generally pleasant tactile sensations.

Flaws

  • some users note that the sound of button presses is too loud.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2015 4 GB white

Rating: 4.5

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2015 4 GB white

The third number in the review of the best e-books in 2021 according to Expertology magazine is a very interesting solution from Amazon itself – the Kindle Paperwhite 2015 reader. Here we can already confidently say that this is a modern gadget with decent features and rich functionality, although not without some limitations . But first things first.

Firstly, it is worth saying that here we are already dealing with a touch screen and, accordingly, touch controls, as on smartphones and tablets. There are no mechanical scrolling buttons at all, and for some users this is even slightly unusual. But the benefits of the touch screen are clear.

Then the image characteristics – here the resolution is even a step higher – 1448×1072, which with such a diagonal gives a pixel density of 300 per inch. This is already quite good, the image is guaranteed to be as smooth as possible, and even the smallest fonts will not grain. There is also backlighting.

On the electronics side, the situation is slightly ambiguous. On the one hand, we have a powerful processor and enough RAM for fast work – this series is really one of the fastest on the market. But the built-in memory is only 4 GB, and there is no support for memory cards. The decision is rather strange, although for many users regular 4 GB of memory will be more than enough.

A big plus in this model is the presence of a Wi-Fi module of the 802.11n standard. This allows you to conveniently use a versatile way to add books to your library. Books can be downloaded directly to the device, you can use the Send-to-Kindle application, or you can simply send the file to your e-mail registered on the kindle.com domain, and within 5-10 seconds the book will appear in the library.

It is also worth making an important remark that for those users who are accustomed to Android with its open file system, it will be very unusual to use this model, like other Amazon readers, for the first time. This is exactly the case when an Android smartphone user switches to an iPhone.

Users, for the most part, only have a positive opinion about this very commercially successful gadget, including the tactile sensations from holding the device in their hands – the delicate soft-touch coating also contributes to that. Some dissatisfaction is caused by the lack of support for some popular formats – here Amazon also behaves in the spirit of Apple. However, through a regular converter, files can be easily converted into a format unified for this model.

Advantages

  • fast work;

  • high screen resolution;

  • touch screen;

  • official support for the Russian language;

  • tactilely pleasant surface of the soft-touch case.

Flaws

  • memory cards are not supported.

Amazon Kindle PaperWhite 2018 8Gb black

Rating: 4.6

Amazon Kindle PaperWhite 2018 8Gb black

And right away, “without going far,” we will consider the newer, fourth generation of the Amazon Kindle PaperWhite reader already marked 2018. Much remains from the 2015 version, but there are also significant changes/improvements.

From the previous version, Kindle PaperWhite 2018 inherited the screen with all its characteristics, but only its location has changed. In the new generation of Kindle, the screen is flush with the body, and not recessed, as in the previous version. That is, visually the reader has become more like a smartphone / tablet, while remaining a full-fledged electronic “reader”. Naturally, the touch screen and control is based on the “smartphone” principle. There is a backlight, adjustable, at the lower positions it is quite comfortable for the eyes, and at the maximum it can already be too bright for many.

Now about the important additions and improvements that appeared in the new version of the reader from Amazon. First, the new Kindle is water resistant. Its level, in theory, should have allowed the device to be completely submerged in water for a short time without consequences. But the results of numerous tests have given mixed results, so for our part we strongly advise against allowing such an extreme, especially for salty sea water. However, the device is certainly not afraid of splashes, rain and similar moderate exposure to water.

The second important improvement is that the reader received a sound card and corresponding additions to the firmware. Now you can listen to audiobooks on it, including the original AAX format. The device can also be used as a voice recorder.

The Wi-Fi module, of course, remained, but besides it, Bluetooth also appeared in the new version. With it, you can connect wireless headphones, mainly for this purpose it was installed in this version.

The overall impression of users, judging by the reviews on the trading floors, is strictly positive, to a greater extent, buyers speak positively about the speed of work, the new screen layout form factor, a convenient dictionary, official support for the Russian language and all those qualities for which they managed to fall in love with the previous version .

From the review of a Yandex.Market user with the Level 6 Gadget Inspector status: “Pleasant, seasoned design. The screen is not “recessed”, but flush with the front panel. Build quality. Works flawlessly – smartly and without brakes. The number of readable formats suits me. It’s convenient to transfer books via Send to Kindle (without wires).”

Advantages

  • waterproof;

  • there is sound and support for the audiobook format;

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth;

  • fast work;

  • touch screen flush with the body;

  • pleasant coating of the soft-touch case;

  • official support for the Russian language.

Flaws

  • no support for memory cards.

PocketBook 627 silver

Rating: 4.7

PocketBook 627 silver

Let’s return to the PocketBook trademark again and consider an improved version of the e-book, which has noticeable advantages over the above described PocketBook 616.

So what do we see in this version. Here, the amount of RAM has been expanded to 512 MB, which, combined with the same 1000 MHz processor as in the previous version, still gives a significant increase in speed and the ability to quickly process heavy files with graphics.

The screen parameters remained the same – 6 inches diagonally, resolution 1024×758, type – Carta, pixel density – 212 per inch. But the screen here is now touch-sensitive, although, unlike Amazon, here the manufacturer did not abandon the mechanical scroll buttons. And it turned out to be a very reasonable decision, which even probably saved this model from a commercial failure, it will become clear later why.

Unlike the previous two readers from Amazon, there is no characteristic corporate snobbery in terms of all sorts of restrictions. Therefore, the device pleases with the presence of a card reader and support for all conceivable and unthinkable formats. The Wi-Fi module is also present.

Unfortunately, in this version, with all its advantages, there is a drawback, from which we consider it our duty to warn you. It’s a very fragile screen. The test results and a noticeable percentage of cases among users show that the screen must not be handled carelessly in any case, otherwise it may break. In general, it is better to use the paging buttons, and use the touch screen as little as possible.

Advantages

  • quality image;

  • fast work;

  • support for memory cards;

  • touch screen;

  • paging buttons;

  • autonomy;

  • support for multiple formats.

Flaws

  • fragile screen.

ONYX BOOX Darwin 7 8 GB

Rating: 4.7

ONYX BOOX Darwin 7 8 GB

Now we invite you to pay attention to a sample of high-quality Chinese-made electronics. This is an updated electronic reader of the seventh generation of the Darwin line manufactured by ONYX International. This model is more expensive than the previous one, but at the same time it boasts some advantages.

First of all, it is worth noting the high-quality E Ink Carta Plus screen with an increased resolution of 1448×1072, which, with a diagonal of 6 inches, gives an excellent pixel density of 300 per inch. This means that even the smallest fonts will not grain. Speaking of fonts, this e-book allows you to download and use custom fonts. The screen is equipped with a pleasant flicker-free backlight with adjustable light temperature.

The electronics of the reader looks quite impressive. If the processor frequency of 1200 MHz is not particularly impressive (although the processor is 4-core and quite powerful), then the amount of RAM of 1024 MB is already a serious claim for high speed even with heavy documents. 8 GB of internal memory is provided for storing files.

This reader has a built-in sound card, so you can even listen to audio books or any other audio content. The device was even equipped with a classic 3.5 mm mini-jack. Those who prefer audiobooks, which, by definition, take up orders of magnitude more storage space, don’t have to worry too much about free space, since this model supports external microSD and microSDHC memory cards.

Users in their reviews on the largest trading floors most often speak positively about the quality of the screen of this model, pleasant adjustable backlight, and the convenience of the side arrangement of the mechanical scroll buttons. Many regard the stylish case included as a very nice bonus.

From the review of a Yandex.Market user with the status “Gadget Inspector Level 2”: “Very good screen quality. Case included. Convenient to carry. Customizable buttons on the sides and in the middle. You can upload your own fonts. It works smartly and it is very pleasant to hold it in hands.

Advantages

  • high screen resolution;

  • touch screen;

  • separate mechanical paging buttons;

  • WiFi;

  • support for memory cards;

  • extremely capacious battery;

  • high speed of work;

  • stylish case included.

Flaws

  • no fundamental flaws were found.

PocketBook 740 Pro

Rating: 4.8

PocketBook 740 Pro

And to conclude the selection of the best black and white e-books in 2021 according to Expertology magazine, we will look at the flagship of the PocketBook brand – the technically advanced model of the 740 series, its top version with the Pro prefix.

The most noticeable and outstanding thing about this model is its size. It is certainly not pocketable and will suit those who prefer such a large format. The screen size in diagonal is 7.8 inches. The screen, of course, is touch-sensitive, but the most remarkable thing about it is not even this, but the resolution. It is responsibly adjusted to the impressive screen size and is 1872×1404. This provides a comfortable pixel density of 300 per inch, which ensures that the image is as smooth and not grainy as possible, even in small letters.

The electronics here are almost top-end, as for e-books with the only caveat – memory cards are not supported. But with 16 GB of built-in data storage on board, the question arises, why are they needed here? RAM – 1 GB, which is very, very worthy for the reader. The processor, however, when viewing the characteristics, is slightly alarming – dual-core with a frequency of 1 GHz, but tests show that everything is in order with the optimization in the device, so the device works quickly.

Of the “advanced” functions in this model, of course, there is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth has been added, with which you can connect wireless headphones. Yes, this model has sound support, and you can listen to audiobooks. Given their size, the impressive size of the data warehouse will come in handy.

Another thing to praise this e-reader for is battery life. The lithium-polymer battery has a capacity of 1900 mAh, and it would seem that this is not a record, since the record in our review is 3000 mAh, but it was an Android reader with all the ensuing energy costs. Here we have a “margin of safety” of the battery for as many as 15 thousand flips, and this is at least a month of moderate use without recharging.

Finally, the “trick” of this flagship model is the presence of a whole range of additional services. Starting from the most basic – storing books in the cloud and the ability to send them to a special address with automatic appearance in the library (similar to the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite), and up to a whole set of additional software: a set of dictionaries, PocketNews, ReadRate, a browser, notes and more.

Advantages

  • big screen;

  • exceptionally high resolution;

  • audio support;

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth;

  • moisture protection;

  • autonomy;

  • many additional useful branded services.

Flaws

  • memory cards are not supported.

The best color e-books

And now let’s move on to the second short nomination of the review of the best e-books in 2021 according to Expertology magazine – readers with a color screen. This is a very small category of goods on the market, but they are still produced and have a stable demand. Consider the most worthy solutions.

PocketBook 633 Color

Rating: 4.8

PocketBook 633 Color

Again, the PocketBook trademark, and this is not surprising, because readers of this brand are really popular. Consider the junior model in the “color series”, the most affordable. Even if it was a black and white reader, our experts would recommend it for purchase with full confidence. One of the most successful models in terms of quality and functionality.

Let’s start traditionally with the screen. The resolution is 1448×1072 and at 6 inches the pixel density is 299 per inch, which is very good. But this is only in black and white. In color, the density will drop to 100 dpi. The number of colors is 4096. This is obvious to almost everyone, but just in case, we will orient that there will not be photographic quality here, as on modern smartphones. The color range is designed so that you can read the relevant publications, where you need to distinguish color, and not admire the naturalness of color reproduction. Touch display.

Now for electronics. The reader is equipped with a dual-core processor at a frequency of 1000 MHz, and in the context of the rest of the configuration, this is enough for fairly fast and comfortable work. This is shown both by independent tests and real user reviews. A big plus is the presence of a card reader. But the built-in data storage of 16 GB will be more than enough for many users.

I am also pleased with the presence of a variety of additional software, as well as the “omnivorousness” characteristic of PocketBook readers in terms of recognizing file formats. It is more difficult to say that it does not recognize, since everything that is possible is supported here.

Reviews about this model from real buyers on Russian trading floors are almost exclusively positive, and often even enthusiastic. Users notice that the screen and the image are not as bright as it would be even in a paper edition, but they are sympathetic. Lots of positive feedback on battery life without recharging.

From the review of a Yandex.Market user with the status “Gadget Inspector Level 2”: “Great book. You get used to the screen quickly, after 10 minutes of reading you no longer pay attention to the fact that it is darker than other books. The battery lasts a very long time, I have been using it for more than a month, I have never charged it yet. I don’t read much, about two hours a day.”

Advantages

  • high screen resolution;

  • touchscreen;

  • screen backlight;

  • audio support;

  • converting text to voice;

  • 16 GB internal memory;

  • support for memory cards;

  • support for many file formats.

Flaws

  • disadvantages of backlight in terms of adjustment.

ONYX BOOX BOOX Poke 2 Color

Rating: 4.9

ONYX BOOX BOOX Poke 2 Color

Again in our review, the products of the Chinese company ONYX International, and this time we will consider an interesting multifunctional reader with a color screen. It is interesting just for its almost “smartphone” versatility. Works on Android 9.0.

Not obvious to everyone, but a remarkable moment in this model is a powerful eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with a frequency of up to 2 GHz. Such equipment is really worthy even of a smartphone, not to mention an e-book. However, here it is not a luxury, but a necessity, since the device works, recall, on Android 9.0 with all the ensuing energy costs.

I would like to continue to praise the electronics of the device, as it is really outstanding, as for an e-book. So, here we have 2 GB of RAM, which is a lot for such devices, and 32 GB of data storage.

As for the screen, here we see almost everything the same as in the previous model. Diagonal size – 6 inches, screen type – E Ink Kaleido, resolution – 1072 × 1448, dot density in b / w mode – 300 per inch, in color – 100 per inch. The number of colors is 4096. There is a reflective backlight MOON Light.

This model also supports audio, allowing you to listen to audio books or any other audio content. True, you can only connect headphones wirelessly via Bluetooth 4.1, since by a strange decision of engineers this model was not equipped with a wired headphone output. In addition to the audiobook format, the reader also supports a wide range of formats for ordinary book-documents, so there will definitely not be any compatibility problems.

Users in their reviews are almost unanimous in appreciating, first of all, the speed of the reader. Neither the interface nor the documents themselves “slow down” ever, and this is, of course, the merit of the processor. For smartphones, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 is already an outdated platform, but for a reader it is just a gift in terms of performance.

Advantages

  • fast work;

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1;

  • audio support;

  • support for many file formats;

  • three ways to synchronize libraries;

  • powerful eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor;

  • high-quality lighting;

  • “smart” case-book included.

Flaws

  • no support for memory cards;

  • no audio output, although audio is supported.

PocketBook 740 Color 16

Rating: 4.9

PocketBook 740 Color 16

And the selection and at the same time the entire review of the best e-books in 2021 according to Expertology magazine will be completed again by PocketBook, only this will already be the most outstanding model of the series in every sense, it is also the most expensive.

Many independent reviewers position this model as “the world’s first reader with a large color screen E Ink new Kaleido”. And this is actually true, since this model is notable for its large 7.8-inch screen. The resolution is 1872×1404 and in black and white this will give a comfortable 300 dots per inch, which naturally drops to 100 per inch when switching to color mode.

The electronics in this model is very decent. 1024 MB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, and there is also support for microSD and microSDHC memory cards. The processor is 2-core with a frequency of 1000 MHz, but the reader is not on Android, so there is enough power for comfortable work.

What really stands out about this model is the battery. Its capacity of 2900 mAh is enough not to remember about charging for many weeks. Remarkably, the reader is equipped with a USB Type-C connector, and this is a huge advantage in 2021 due to the mass transition of gadgets to this format and, accordingly, its becoming a kind of standard.

PocketBook 740 Color 16 also supports audio, and the sound can be output to the headphones either via the same USB Type-C (an audio adapter is included in the package), or via the Bluetooth module to connect wireless ones. Wi-Fi is also available.

Users in their reviews on the largest trading platforms of the Russian Federation are unanimous in their objective opinion that this is one of the most “long-playing” e-books on the market due to the exceptional battery capacity. In general, users have a positive opinion about the functionality and image quality. True, it is often noted that the screen is frankly dark and it is preferable to read books after all with backlight. On the other hand, there are a lot of positive reviews about color reproduction, despite the fact that it has the same base 4096 colors as the two models described above.

From the review of a Yandex.Market user with the Level 6 Gadget Inspector status: “Long work in reading mode. The presence of physical buttons. All the formats I need out of the box. There is no android. There is color where needed. Screen size is perfect for me.

Advantages

  • big screen;

  • touch screen;

  • backlight;

  • a high resolution;

  • audio support;

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth;

  • support for memory cards;

  • exceptional autonomy;

  • USB Type-C.

Flaws

  • many users report that the screen is too dark/gray and the backlight is not adjusted properly.
